What’s new
• Restaurants and bars: open tabs, tables, kitchen and bar tickets, split bills, service charge, happy hours, and options on items (sizes, extras). • Supermarkets and pharmacies: weighed items with scale labels, product variants, batch and expiry tracking, and prescriptions. • Staff and payroll: PIN sign-in, clocking in and out, rosters, monthly pay runs, and Uganda PAYE, NSSF and LST. • VAT: say whether your business is VAT-registered. If it isn't, sales carry no VAT and EFRIS issues receipts instead of tax invoices. • Each item on a sale or purchase can have its own tax: standard, zero-rated, exempt or no tax. • EFRIS: a sale that is retried after a lost connection is never fiscalised twice. • Purchases: add a new supplier without leaving the purchase screen. • Receipts print straight to your receipt printer. • Fixes: the dashboard now counts sales made after midnight, and restoring a backup is safer.

When you run the installer
Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” box. Click More info, then Run anyway. This appears because the installer is new, not because anything is wrong with it.
The first start is slow
The first time you open it, YourBooks POS sets up its database on your computer. This can take a few minutes and only happens once. Leave the window open until it finishes.
What you need

- • About 1 GB of free disk space
- • 4 GB of memory or more
- • Internet to activate, for updates and for URA EFRIS — everyday selling carries on without it
More than one till?
Install it on each till. On the first computer, use it as normal — that one holds the data. On the others, enter the first computer’s address when asked, and they’ll share the same stock and sales. See pricing.
